In the building cladding and architectural industries, Alucobond is used. The term “Alucobond” may not be well known outside of these industries. However, if a construction, architectural, or building project is in your near future, it’s a term you should become well acquainted with. Here, so you can get a better idea of what Alucobond is and its uses, we are going to present the most commonly asked questions, along with their answers.
First things first, however…
That may be the biggest question of all. Alucobond is an original ACM (aluminum composite material) used in the building industries just mentioned. In the world of design innovation, Alucobond has been a leader for more than 50 years. Outstanding product attributes distinguish Alucobond in the market, some of these being ease of fabrication, durability, formant ability, and flatness.
In addition to construction applications like wall linings, insulation, and architectural cladding, it can be used for signage channel letters for:
To make up Alucobond, two smooth aluminum facers measuring .020 inches are thermobonded with polyethylene (in various thicknesses) for a final panel thickness anywhere from 6 mm down to 3 mm.
Consisting of either a noncombustible mineral filled core or one that is fire retardant, two aluminum cover sheets sandwich the core. This composite paneling offers a whole new range of solutions for designers and construction engineers through its superb properties.
One of the most eco-friendly, sustainable materials on the planet – as well as being one of the most recyclable – is aluminum composite. Without any loss of quality or value, the sandwich panels (aluminum) can be extracted.
As external cladding for building façades, these panels are most frequently used. But they’re also used for commercial buildings, offices, shopping malls, bars, hotels, signage, canopy shop fronts, and more. You may also find it used in wardrobes, modular kitchens, tabletops, false ceilings, cabinetry, cupboards, and wall coverings.
To clean, according to manufacturers, use a mild detergent and an extremely soft applicator such as a window cleaning mop or a sponge.
